Ashley Cruel

Ashley Cruel is a poet, actress, and educator from Albany, Ga.She is currently based in the Metro Atlanta area. She received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in acting from Howard University. There she developed her love of writing. Her work is inspired by her three pillars; Faith, Family, and Freedom. She is currently developing a short film of poems entitled “Ascension”. Ascension captures poetic conversations between a woman and God. As she  reflects on her life. She is reminded of her past wounds. Wounds of insecurity, abandonment, and a declining mental health. Ultimately she finds that love is the remedy that carried her through.
